The hornline is comprised of woodwind and brass instruments that produce our great sound.  At band camp, and throughout the season, wind players are expected to perfect their skills in breathing, tone production, articulation, phrasing, and contemporary marching technique.  As "Wisconsin's Finest", we commit ourselves to utilizing contemporary movement while maintaining high musical standards, and a beautiful sound.  Hornline members should be prepared to play for a 2-hour rehearsal with marching.  Daily maintenance of your "chops" and endurance outside of scheduled rehearsals is expected.  Also, ALL music is expected to be memorized.  On occasion, you may be asked to participate in sectionals outside of weekly rehearsals.  If you have questions regarding how to increase your endurance, please contact Dr. Hayes directly, or consult another professional on your instrument!
