Joining the WMB
Registering for the Warhawk Marching Band is easy! Just add MUSC 169-01 when you register for fall classes during your "SOAR" session this summer. No auditions are required for Winds, Brass, and Color Guard.
The Warhawk Marching Band is open to ALL students at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater regardless of major. Although previous marching experience is beneficial to prospective members, it is NOT required.
NOTE TO ALL PERCUSSIONISTS: Once you register, you are IN the band! However, you are required to play a placement audition on the first day of band camp to determine what instrument best suits your abilities and needs of the band. Please check the "PERCUSSION" tab for audition information and music.
If you are already a UW-Whitewater student, you can register on WINS. You will receive information via your school email and/or by U.S. mail over the summer about reporting for band camp.

"Each year was just as good as the previous one. There is such a family atmosphere with the band that I knew I could count on my fellow band mates for anything if I asked for it." "I love the WMB because it has 150 different students, from different backgrounds, and with different majors; all coming together for a common goal" "My favorite thing about Marching Band is being under Doc's direction. He makes it feel like we are a family and not just a band." "It's like a family. Being a freshman it was such a positive experience coming into the band. I was able to meet so many people. It made the transition into college so much easier." |
"I love the family atmosphere that the WMB provides. Coming in as a first year student knowing almost nothing about the program, I was able to make friends extremely fast with the WMB." "WMB is a great group for making a solid group of friends, especially when you come in as a new student to the University and don't know many, if any, other people. It's a really fun group of students that I am very lucky to be a part of." "It is an easy transition, even for a first-year student like me who has never marched before." "My favorite thing about the WMB is the variety of students that are involved with the WMB (different majors, different backgrounds, and different personalities)." |
